His journey into music began at the age of 12 and has since evolved into a professional career spanning stage performance, studio recording, and live entertainment across the region. Jay-R received his foundational training in music at Bethel High School in Campden Park, where he first picked up the saxophone before transitioning to piano and voice—skills that would later anchor his signature sound. Over the years, he has performed at several of St. Vincent’s top resorts and cultural venues, gaining recognition for his commanding stage presence and artistic range. A seasoned entertainer, Jay-R has represented St. Vincent and the Grenadines internationally, performing at the Caribbean Youth Fest in St. Lucia and Jamaica, where he took part in the prestigious Caribbean Rhythm Showcase. In 2023, he earned one of the nation’s highest musical honors by being crowned the National Ragga Soca Monarch of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
